Scuba Diving Cameras

You can capture your amazing scuba diving experience with a camera. There are 3 types of cameras to choose to capture this experience: digital camera, film camera, and video camera.

Digital allows you to see the pictures instandly. It will be more expensive than a film camera, but you won't have to pay for film. Digital is great since you can take more than the standard 36 exposures while you are underwater. With certain flash cards, you can take hundreds of photos prior to surfacing. Digital cameras have simplified getting color from underwater. You just need an underwater strobe and you can get great color with a white balance that is available in most digital cameras. The white balance allows for color absorption by water, giving better pictures even without the strobe light. There are different digital camers such as the point and shoot and SLR cameras.

Film cameras are popular and less expensive. The drawback will be that you have to pay for film and processing.

Video cameras are more expensive, but you can capture the beauty of the trip easily. The video cameras are compact and easy to put in an underwater housing unit. Most of the underwater videos are with digital video cameras. The video will be much better with underwater lights. When taking underwater videos in the shallow or clear water, a light is not necessary.
